Li Yuan poem

Li Yuan

Written on a cold night while reading “Dream of the Red Chamber”

The poem in simplified characters:

The poem in complex characters:

On such a cold day, the shadow of the wild goose is low.

The new moon, like a hook, hangs to the west of the chamber.

I carry the lamp and finish reading Dream of the Red Chamber.

Tears dampen my silk handkerchief; I can’t bear to write.
