2.7: Gramática-el subjuntivo

What is the subjunctive?  Please raise your hand if you think the answer is “the worst part of Spanish”.  The subjunctive is a grammatical mood, not tense that exists in many languages.  It even exists somewhat in English. A mood explains what the verb is doing, a tense is when it happened.

English has mood too.  For example, the imperative is a mood.  Telling someone, “go to the store,” “get up!” or, “give me that” are all examples of the imperative mood in English.
