Topic 5.3 – Parabolas

Parabolas gives an introduction to polynomials of degree = 2 and uses Graph Transformations to analyze the graph of the general parabola y = ax2 + bx + c to show that the axis of symmetry, and therefore the x-coordinate of the vertex is b/2a. The main example is to use the general form y = ax2 + bx + c to find the vertex of the parabola and to be able to sketch the graph of a parabola from the general form.
