25 Lesson 2 recap

Ethical responsibilities and responsible engagement

This lesson focused on the important responsibilities that come with using GenAI tools, both in our coursework and in our daily lives.

The need for critical thinking and careful fact-checking is super important, because we learned that what AI creates isn’t always accurate or true.

This lesson navigated through:

  • Understanding our ethical responsibilities when we use GenAI.
  • Recognizing how GenAI can accidentally spread unfair biases.
  • Learning how to figure out if information from AI is reliable and trustworthy.

Now that we’ve completed the lesson, you should be able to:

  • Identify key ethical concerns like copyright, who owns ideas (intellectual property), bias in data, how clear AI is about its choices (transparency), whether AI’s answers are dependable (output reliability), privacy risks, fairness (equity), and academic integrity.
  • Critically check if AI-generated content is accurate.
  • Apply effective strategies for fact-checking and analyzing what AI produces.
