Humanities and social sciences librarians are increasingly called on to develop subject and
collection development expertise outside their own academic background. This handbook will
help librarians new to collection development for regions of Europe and Eurasia key resources for collection development and offer guidance on working with faculty and students focusing on these areas.
The Handbook has three thematic sections:
- Resources and Tools for Regions of Europe. This section allows readers to gain a quick overview of the databases and collection development tools, vendors, publishing landscape, and scholarly trends for countries and regions of Europe and Eurasia.
- Resources on Underrepresented Groups. This section offers resources and background for librarians seeking better representation of European writers and others from underrepresented groups.
- Current Issues in European Studies Librarianship. This section provides overviews and resources related to current LIS research trends and scholarly topics encountered today by librarians who cover collection development and research support for Europe and Eurasia.
