Uzbekistan: Takhmina Turdialieva
Born in Uzbekistan, Takhmina Turdialieva is founder and director of Tatalab, an architectural firm located in Toshkent, Uzbekistan. She is also the co-founder of Shaharsozlik To’lqini (Association of Young Architects of Uzbekistan), an organization in Tashkent advocating for sustainable urban development. Turdialieva holds a bachelor’s degree in Design of Architectural Environment from Tashkent Architecture and Building Institute (2009–2013), and master’s in art and design from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan City, China (2015–2017). She also studied graphic design at Republic Art College in Tashkent (2006–2009). Turdialieva serves as chair of the Association of Young Architects of Uzbekistan, and served as the competition coordinator for the IV Me’mor// 2025 Architecture Award. She won the Turkistan Architects Award, an international design competition hosted in Turkistan city Akimat (2018), and was awarded the President Scholarship of Uzbekistan (2012), and the Design Olympiad of Uzbekistan, both from the Ministry of Education in Uzekistan (2012).
