Saint Vincent and the Grenadines: Shereese Trumpet
Born in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Shereese Trumpet is an architect based in New York City, New York. She holds a bachelor’s in architecture from The City College of New York (CCNY) in New York City. Trumpet is a technical designer for CetraRuddy Architecture in New York City (2024–). She worked as a project manager for MZ Woodwork Inc. in Brooklyn, New York (2017–2020) and as a project designer for STUDIO 397 Architecture LLC in Brooklyn (2020–2024). Trumpet was named a Real Estate Associate Program (REAP) Fellow (Spring 2025). She has served as co-chair of the New York Coalition of Black Architects – New York Chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects (nycobaNOMA, 2019–2021), and as a member (2013–2017) and president of the City College Chapter of American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) (2014–2015). Her work was featured in the exhibition, “Say It Loud: Distinguished Black Designers of nycobaNOMA, curated by Pascale Sablan at the Center for Architecture (2017). Trumpet earned various awards including the nycobaNOMA Diversity Award (2014), the Center for Architecture Heritage Ball Scholarship (2014), and the Megan Lawrence Memorial Award (2013). She was also named a Liberal Arts Honors Scholar in CCNY’s Honors program (2012).
