Oman: Maryam Al Balushi
Maryam Al Balushi is the Oman country representative of AIA Middle East. She is also a member of the Oman Society of Architecture,the Oman Society of Engineers, and a founding member of both the Women in Engineering chapter in Oman, and SustainableOman. Maryam Al Balushi holds a master’s of architecture from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas; she also studied at Centro Studi Città di Orvieto in Orvieto, Italy. She has gained professional experience working at various firms including F&M Middle East Engineering Consultancy LLC in Muscat, Oman (2017–2024) and Meinhardt Group in Oman (2024–). She has served as a member and former president of the National Organization of Minority Architecture Students (2012–2014). She also participated in the Oman Pavilion at the Dubai Expo competition (2021–2022), and juried the “One Day Design Challenge” hosted by Roca (2017).
