Namibia: Nina Maritz

Nina Maritz is founder and director of Nina Maritz Architects and co-founder of Greenspace, a non-governmental organization (NGO); both are located in Windhoek, Nambia. She holds a bachelor’s of architecture from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She is a founding member and chair of the Green Building Council of Namibia, and served as a founding and management committee member and past chair of the Eco-Awards Namibia. She is a member of the Namibia Institute of Architects, and served as a member of the Holcim Foundation Awards jury for the Middle East and Africa (2008). Maritz earned a Global Award for Sustainable Architecture from the French Institute of Architects and UNESCO (2018), a Namibia Institute of Architects Award of Achievement (2015), and the Award of Merit from the Namibia Institute of Architects (1996, 2003, 2005, 2008, 2010).
