Malta: Isabelle Barratt-Delia

Born in 1938, Isabelle Barratt-Delia is the first woman to graduate as an architect from the Royal University of Malta located in Valletta, Malta (1961). She worked briefly at Mortimer and Degiorgio, an architectural firm in Malta. Barratt-Delia relocated to Canada and worked for the Canadian Exhibition Commission on exhibitions in various locations including New York, Frankfurt, Milan, and Sydney. She was the subject of a feature article in the The Architect (c. 2005), and was one of the “golden graduates” celebrated by the University of Malta in 2011.
