Luxembourg: Arlette Schneiders

Arlette Schneiders is the founder of Arlette Schneiders Architectes in Belair, Luxembourg (1989), one of the first architectural firms in Luxembourg established by a woman. She holds a diploma in architecture from L’Institut Supérieur d’Architecture Saint-Luc Bruxelles in Brussels, Belgium (1979), and she completed her postgraduate studies in the restoration of historical monuments at the University of Rome in Rome, Italy (c. 1982–1986). Schneiders has competed in and won numerous international architectural design competitions; she earned first prize in a European competition to renovate the Fish Market in Luxembourg City (1997). Her firm was named a laureate of the Bauhärepräis by the Ordre des architectes et des ingénieurs-conseils (OAI, 2020). In affiliation with Arlette Schneiders Architectes, she also earned a Luxembourg Architecture Award in the residential architecture category (2019), and a Luxembourg Architecture Award (2004).
