Greece: Helen Patrikiou-Kanellopoulou

Born in 1901 in Aighio, Greece, Helen Patrikiou-Kanellopoulou was the first woman to graduate from the School of Architecture at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in Athens Greece, where she earned a diploma in architecture (1919–1923). She gained professional experience working for Zachariou Technical Company (1923–1924) and the Ministry of Public Transport (1925–1951). She transitioned to a working in private practice as a freelance architect (1951–1980). Patrikiou-Kanellopoulou was co-founder of the Technical Office of Spyros and Eleni Patrikious — Engineers, an architectural and construction firm (1951–1980). She was also a founding member and board member of both the Association of Greek Women Scientists and the Hellenic Architectural Society. She died in 1980 in Athens, Greece.
