Croatia: Ada Felice-Rošić
Born in 1922 in Rijeka, Croatia, architect Ada Felice-Rošić was known for her contributions in rebuilding Rijeka after World War II. She earned a diploma in architecture from the Technical Faculty in Zagreb in Zagreb, Croatia (1949) after pausing her education to join the resistance efforts during World War II. After graduation she worked at the Civil Engineering Design Institute, assisting with the recovery efforts (1950s). She transferred to Primorje, a construction firm, where she was promoted to director of the Project Bureau (1958–1975). After leaving that role, she worked as a construction inspector before her retirement (c. late-1970s). Felice-Rošić was featured in the exhibition, “Ada Felice-Rošić and Nada Šilović — A Woman’s Trace in the Architecture of Rijeka,” curated by Lidija Butković Mićin at the Rijeka City Museum (2013). Felice-Rošić died in 2013 in Rijeka, Croatia.
