Cambodia: Muygech Sok
Born in Cambodia, Muygech Sok is the co-founder, director, and principal architect of BMK Architects in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. She holds a bachelor’s of science in architecture from Limkokwing University of Creative Technology in Phnom Penh (2012), and a master’s of architecture from the University of Nottingham in Nottingham, England (2015). She earned a ASEAN Master Scholarship to study abroad in England (2014). Muygech Sok has worked in private practice for various architectural firms, including MECA Design Architecture and Engineering (2013–2014) and Urban Architecture, both in Phnom Penh (2014). She also worked in academia as a lecturer for the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology in Cambodia (2016–2017). Muygech Sok was a finalist in the “Property, Infrastructure and Construction” category of the Women of the Future Awards Southeast Asia (2020). She was also selected as a Cambodian delegate for the ASEAN Youth Leadership Exchange (AYLE) organized by the National University of Singapore (2013), and as a participant for the SEALNet Organization Summit hosted at the National University of Singapore (2013).
