4.5.2 The subjunctive in adverbial clauses 2

Never subjunctive

Just like there are adverbial conjunctions that require the subjunctive in the dependent clause, there are others that always use the indicative.  This again, has to do with time relationships.  The sentences in this group will generally mean “Since A happened, B is happening too”.

PAYS
Puesto que Since/Now that
Ahora que Since/Now that
Ya que Since/Now that
Siempre que Whenever/Every time

Hopefully you already know that porque de does not exist in Spanish.  When you want to say “because of” or “because”, puesto que, ahora que and ya que are all good conjunctions to try instead!
