2.11.3 Conjugation: regular preterite forms

Review of the preterite conjugations

The preterite is a lot harder to conjugate than the imperfect.  There are lots of words that do not follow the standard pattern for conjugation and there are more true irregular forms too.  So why does the harder form always come first?  Well, it’s also the form you’re more likely to use by itself in a short sentence.  Te llamé is an excellent sentence that doesn’t require more information but Te llamaba probably does.
