7.3.3 Written accents: acentuación aguda
What is a palabra aguda?
The second biggest category of words is that of palabras agudas.
When a word’s strong syllable is the last or ultimate syllable, it is a palabra aguda.
If a palabra aguda ends in any consonant other than -N or -S we DON’T write an accent mark because we expect it to be aguda.
When a palabra aguda ends in -N,-S, or any vowel, we DO write an accent mark because it is unexpectedly aguda.
