Unit 3: Festivals

India is a multi-cultural, multi-religious and multi-lingual society. People following different religions and religious practices live together side by side. The social fabric of Indian society comprises of various religious traditions. Within one religious community there are many different customs. The aim of this lesson is to introduce students the cultural life of India through festivals, specifically those that are celebrated in the Hindi speaking area of North India.
