Welcome to the CILIA-T Curriculum!

About this bookWord cloud in the shape of the Earth. Words are descriptive of CILIA-T curriculum.

The CILIA-T curriculum is informed by the existing research on knowledge acquisition, language, and adult development. In addition, our own research has examined how various methods of activating background knowledge affect comprehension of complex topics and how to assess digital, civics, history, and English proficiency.

Through extensive development and testing, the CILIA-T team refined the curriculum to ensure that it is both user-friendly and effective.

How to use this e-textbook

Teachers:

There are many ways this book can be utilized in the adult education classroom and for adult education students. It can be used as the guiding text in the classroom where teachers and students will work together to read the texts and complete all corresponding activities.

The curriculum content is appropriate for the intermediate and advanced ELL classrooms and can also be incorporated into pre-High School Equivalency or High School Equivalency classes such as GED or HiSet.
