Let’s talk about how and why countries come into contact around the world. Think about a country that you know well – which other countries has it come in contact with over the years? Why did these countries come into contact – what happened?

Which European countries came to the Americas? Why and what happened?

Big Questions

In this chapter, we explore the beginnings of European colonies and how it affected Native Americans. Be ready to review vocabulary words that are related to this topic, discuss your experiences and think about how to tell stories from more than one person’s perspective.

After completing this Module 9, you will be able to answer the following questions:

Question #3: How do colonizers and colonized groups view the experience differently?
