Morphemes and Connectors

We will first review the morphemes and connectors on the worksheet and then complete some exercises.

Use this worksheet to review word parts.

Morphology chart. The left column features a review of morphemes ion and ly. The right column features examples in text such as participation, education, and critically. Two practice prompts: use a morpheme to make a word: instruct; use morpheme to make a word: safe. Bottom chart introduces new morpheme -ive. What does it do? What is it in my home language? Examples in text and other examples. An example sentence is provided at the bottom of the chart.

Do the following exercise to review the new word parts.

The word bank below provides some adjectives that can be used to describe people. Use at least three of the adjectives to describe one person you know. You may look up the meanings of any unfamiliar words and find their verb base.
