In this chapter, we explore immigration and why people move from one place to another around the world. Be ready to review vocabulary words that are related to this topic, discuss your experiences, and talk about how immigrants make the United States a strong nation.
After completing Module 2, you will be able to answer the following questions:
Questions #1-2: Why do people move? What experiences are common to people who move to new places?
Question #3: How can a person fit into a new country and still stay connected to their old one?
Before we begin, let’s look at our Historical Timeline. At what time do you think immigrants were coming to the Americas?
