How can we learn about ways to participate in our communities?
Do an internet search to answer this question: “How can I participate more in my community?” You will write down about the information you find and include it in an essay.
- Search
a. Open a browser and search ______________ (name of your city or neighborhood) +[volunteer] OR
[community organization] OR
[get involved]
b. OR type in the name of a place you’d like to be involved with, like “school” or “arts organization”, etc. - Research
a. Choose a website. Write down the link/source that you are using.
b. Check to make sure that you are using a reliable source. How do you know? If you do not think the website is reliable, choose a different source.
c. Examine any pictures or images you see on the web site.
d. Read the information. - Take Notes
Write some information that you want to include in your civic participation plan. Here are some examples of what your notes can include:
